1. REQUEST INFORMATION
After you share your contact details, you’ll receive a copy of the Marco’s Business Model eBook, which provides a detailed executive overview of the opportunity. We will also reach out to learn more about your interest in the Marco’s business opportunity and get your questions answered.
2. APPLICATION – INTERVIEW WITH SALES PROFESSIONAL
The first step in the due diligence process is to submit your Ownership Application. Once your initial application is submitted, we will discuss your individual goals to make sure Marco’s is a good fit. Our recruiters will discuss the business opportunity, the strategic direction of the company, and territory availability. You will learn what is driving the brand’s success and we will also walk you through the next steps of the process.
3. FRANCHISE DISCLOSURE DOCUMENT (FDD) REVIEW (Scheduled Meeting)
We’ll review the FDD together. We will highlight sections that often generate questions from candidates, and invite you to ask questions, too. The goal is to identify and eliminate any contractual barriers before moving forward.
4. PERSONALITY PROFILE (Self Directed)
This should only take a few minutes but can provide hours of conversation! We’re in the “People Business” and this tool helps us understand you a little better. It may even provide some insights to yourself as well!
5. STORE VISIT & OPERATIONS ASSESSMENT (Scheduled Meeting)
You’ll be introduced to operations, the products, and more. We ask that you visit a store on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday. You will also be assessed on the skills and abilities needed to be a successful Marco’s operator. This will be completed by a Franchise Business Leader, Area Representative, or certified Training Manager.
6. PRO FORMA & FRANCHISEE VALIDATION (Self directed)
To really understand the economics of the business, you’ll create a pro forma based on information available in the FDD and details you learn from franchisees. We also encourage you to talk to several franchisees to get their thoughts on the brand. We can help arrange video conferences upon request.
7. DISCOVERY DAY – (Scheduled Meeting)
You will meet with members of the Marco’s leadership team to better understand our vision for the brand, and to get an in-depth look at the different departments and how they are executing on our vision and serving franchisees.
8. FRANCHISE AWARD
Once you have completed all of the above steps, you will receive a final application approval, denial, or conditional approval. Upon receiving your Application Approval it will be time to complete a franchise agreement! Please note, we require Franchise Agreements be issued to business entities, rather than individuals. You will be given time to create your business entity once you have been approved, or you can use an existing legal entity if you already have one available.
